The event honored participants of the “Hunger Games,” Feeding South Florida’s series of competitive events between corporations to raise the critical funds and awareness necessary to end hunger in South Florida. The contest started in January and winners were decided upon by tallying the number of points won by the corporation for winning and participating in competitions and posting sanctioned Feeding South Florida information on social media. Ascendo had the highest point total, earning the company the “Ultimate Hunger Champion” recognition.
“Working with Feeding South Florida and participating in this friendly competition has been an extremely rewarding experience for our entire staff which made a great commitment to help win this award,” said Gustavo Pena, managing partner of Ascendo Resources. “As a local company, we understand the importance of giving back and creating lasting relationships with our community.”
In addition to this honor, Ascendo was also recently a finalist for the South Florida Business Journal’s Top Business of the Year awards and has been recognized in the 2013 Inc. 5000 List of private companies and Florida Trend’s Fast 100 List.
